One week to go!

Today is the countdown: eight days until due date. But, what does that really mean anyway? Chris is convinced that I'm going to be a week late and have a 20 hour labor. Although these are certainly both a possibility, I hope neither happen.

I went to the midwife on Tuesday and saw Julie. It was a pretty uneventful appointment. She listened to his heartbeat which is really strong and said, "wow, he's really happy in there." My fundal height had not changed, still 36 1/2in, and I actually LOST A POUND!! She says I'm having braxton hicks contractions, but I can't really tell what all the difference is in the pains I'm having. I go back on April 5...

In the mean time, I'm feeling much more pressure on my pelvis. Chris and I are trying to walk in the evenings because it is good for me. However, I'm not much of a walking partner because I move so slowly. It's a hard workout for me and an easy walk for Chris. :) I actually managed about 20 minutes the other day. Since then, I've felt much more pressure in my pelvis.

It has been really warm here the last few days. It would be GREAT if it's in the mid 70s and low 80s when we come home from the hospital. But, having the windows open has actually made an uncomfortable sleeping environment for me. The last two nights, I've had a more difficult time getting comfortable because I feel really hot. Also, I feel the pressure in my pelvis every time I move. Oh, and getting up 4 times in the night, hobbling to the bathroom because my bladder feels so full is getting REALLY annoying. :) But, I know this is just practice for being up in the middle of the night with our little guy when we bring him home.

Our bags are mostly packed and Chris FINALLY appropriately installed both car seats into our cars. I feel MUCH better about it now. We still have a bit of a "to-do" list. I don't feel like the house is clean enough yet for us to have a baby, so hopefully, he'll hold out until some time next week so I can get the house cleaned this weekend.

Today is my last day of work. :) I have lots of fun things planned for next week to "keep me busy". Monday, is my appointment; Tuesday, Lisa and I are going to get pedicures and stop at Culvers for "flavor of the day ice cream"; Wednesday, hanging out with Jana (she just had a baby in February and is on maternity leave)...I haven't gotten as far as Thursday or Friday yet, but need to purchase some nursing bras which will require a trip to Woodfield mall! So, lots of things to do; all of that on top of the cleaning and picking up I need to do. I can't quite convince Chris to allow us to hire a cleaning lady for ONE TIME!!

I will keep you all updated...it could be any day!
