Here we are, awaiting the new year as Christmas is over. It always seems that the 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas go so quickly! I wish we had 8 weeks of the Christmas season!!
I went to see my midwife this past week (Dec 23) and don't really have anything exciting to report. My next visit on Jan 18 I will have to do a glucose test to make sure that I have not developed gestational diabetes. Therefore, I have to drink this glucose drink within an hour of my appointment and can't have any carbohydrates or sugary drinks/foods prior to my visit. This was the first visit that my fundal height was measured and it was exactly 25cm. According to my midwife, you should be 1cm for every week of gestation and I was 25 weeks at the time, so that was great! Also, I got a prescription for Rhogam that I will have to have injected at my next visit due to the risk I have for an RH factor since Chris has has a positive blood type and mine is negative.
I have not thrown up for over two weeks now and am off medication. At times, I still experience period of nausea that seem to be brought on my stress or emotional reactivity if I get worked up about something. I'm really thankful that I'm able to eat and cook. :)
We bought the nursery furniture a week or so ago and Chris spent the afternoon today putting the dresser, changing table, and crib together. :) The cats are VERY curious about the nursery. We have been keeping the room closed off so that we don't have to heat it and the SECOND the door opens, the cats are upstairs and wanting to be in the room. They loved all the boxes from the furniture and helping Chris put it all together.
I am wrapping up the second trimester and will be starting the third in just a few weeks. Baby Bandstra is just growing longer and fattening up. :) He is about 13 1/2 inches long and about 1.5-2lbs right now. Chris and I haven't taken any pregnancy pictures in a LONG time and I would like to post some of my growing belly!
Happy New Year!!
